Well that really depends on the album. I did it for Opeth's Ghost Reveries & Katatonia's The Great Cold Distance and initially i was pleased i waited coz they were both great. But both albums ended up disappointing coz they didnt really have the staying power of their previous albums. I tend not to do it anymore because its so hard to find the cds here sometimes. Its easy for Opeth and Katatonia, but even for a band like Into Eternity, I couldnt find TSoA until about 3 months after it was released. I cant even find any God Is An Astronaut cds, it sucks.

It's the last song on their 2006 album. One of the few song I can remember the name of.
New Wolven Ancestry is pretty sweet, I can't wait for it.

I found this fantastic journal on last.fm where i found a few more albums for 08. Im not sure if all these are 100% confirmed but if they are they're gonna make some people here pretty happy i imagine.

Mogwai - The Hawk Is Howling
Mono
Poison The Well
Russian Circles - Station
Red Sparowes
Stephen O'Malley and Attila Csihar - 6°Fskyquake
*Shels - Plains of the Purple Buffalo

You can find the full journal entry here. But i should warn you, its monstrously long. So it could take a while to get through all of it Razz

That would be awesome. Especially a new Russian Circles would be great.
And why is Green Carnation on that list, doesn't Tchort first needs to find a complete new band?

I wouldn't know. Im not really a follower of GC. But yeah im not really convinced by some bands in that list. Like Poison The Well (they just released on last year, and based on their history there's no evidence to support a new album so soon), Red Sparowes (i havent even heard of it until i read it there, and you would think a band of RS's status would have people going crazy insane over a new album. BUT i guess the rumour/fact has to start somewhere so it could be true).

The ones with titles seem to be likely to be released this year, so thats fantastic news.

mmm yeah a new *shels will be very good to hear. Sea Of The Dying Dhow is growing on me at a rapid pace. Im really looking forward to some new Mogwai and Russion Circles because i've been fairly bored with both of them recently. Some new material might be a breath of fresh air.

And seeing as you like *shels so much you should check out Devil Sold His Soul. Both *shels and DSHS came from the same band Mahumodo (like the way At The Drive-In split into TMV and Sparta). DSHS is pretty damn different though. Its more core-ish especially in the vocals. But they have some tear-jearking clean vocals moments.

omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg

Nadja - Bliss Torn From Emptiness (the re-recording) has leaked. bounce And on top of that a new album called "Desire In Uneasiness" is due for a release in April. SEX!

I also found some new albums that are interesting

- Fuck Buttons - Street Horrrsing I heard some samples on their myspace and they sound crazy! They're kind of a Electro-Drone-Post-Rock thing. Anyone who is into Post-Rock needs to at least check out their myspace!!!

Post-Rock
- Have A Nice Life - Deathconsciousness
- A Hawk in the Heavens - The Glow And The Approach

Black Metal
- Wedard - Wo die Ewigkeit die Zeit berührt
- Taarma - Beyond The Cemetery Gates
- Andrarakh Opus Eins, Kapitel I-III

Death Metal/Grindcore
- Poostew - Misericordia. Im sure if Bob was here he'd probably be talking about this album. They recorded a split with Japanische Kampfhörspiele and i remember him liking that band a lot (i think). And with a name like Poostew i just couldnt resist Razz
- Dead Will Rise - Entrepreneur

I can't really say I'm familiar with any of those, are they any good? And I guess most of the black metal is epic depressive stuff? Razz

BLOODBATH NEWSSSS!!!

Bloodbath's upcoming EP will be titled "Unblessing the Purity" (it could be a working title, im not sure).

Its not likely, but Im hoping that it was Swano who was responsible for the new sound and that with his departure and Akerfeldt back in the picture that they return to the RTC sound.

Apparently there is already a new Folkearth album. Downloading now, I hope it's better then Drakkars.

Edit: Well, it isn't. The first two will remain the only two good albums by them.
